Another Child

I wrote this soon after we found out we were having a baby. Since Walkers only have boys, I assumed it was going to be a boy, so it was originally written with "hes" and "hims". Needless to say I had to change all of the pronouns when we found out little Sophie was coming to us. I sang this at her dedication in June.
Sounds of new life began to play and Heaven came to earth
An angel kissed the ground today increasing its worth
I’ve heard it said that the harvest is great and the laborers are few
She’s got tiny hands and she’s got tiny feet, but one day she’ll use them for you
Take her she’s yours
Another child was born for Your kingdom today
It just so happens that she shares my name
I’ll teach her to grow and I’ll teach her to serve
I’ll teach her that she is loved
And one day she will find out for herself
What You made her capable of
Now I’ve got someone depending on me, but I’m still dependent myself
If I’m supposed to show her what she’s supposed to be, then I’m going to need Your help
They say it takes a village and it takes a town, but I know that it takes Your hand
To lead her along when the lights have gone out and guide her into Your plan
Show her the way
