politician on tv tells me what he’s gonna do for me
I have yet to see him follow through, power’s all he wants to hold onto
preacher man acts like he’s got it down, criticizing everyone in town
but today he goes and messes up, embarrasses all the rest of us
but my faith is in a better man
as I look in the reflection glass all my problems seem so obvious
but I hold on them so tightly, keeping a lid over the real me
all the things i speak so loud against, like greed and gossip, lust and arrogance
are the things i battle everyday; i can’t get myself to go away
but my faith is in a better man
Jesus is a better man
he taught me how to be a better man
