well i was walkin on down the street
thinking of the people that i’d like to meet
because my life seemed so incomplete
but somebody was tellin me lies
well the truth is, it occurred to me
all the things i’m lookin for i could not see
but they were right there in front of me
i just had to open my eyes
now i’m walkin away
well i live in this society
always telling me what i’m supposed to be
but when i look at the reality
i can see a greater design
there’s nothing this world can give
to make it any healthier for me to live
it’s like i’m chasing after the wind
and it such a waste of my time
now i’m walkin away
i’ve been livin almost thirty years
long enough to smile and to cry some tears
but I have yet to really open my ears
and listen to the one who started it all
so i’m walkin away
